Review of this course

Today is December 3, the last day in this term. I can't believe I have studied in university for three months already. I'm taking five courses this term, and is suffering from one of them. Fortunately, CSC104 is one of my favourite courses in this semester, since it introduces to me a brand new field -- programming.

I learned to use Dr.Racket to arrange pictures and numbers, do calculation and present change of numbers by vivid picture from lectures and projects. To be honest, I have no previous experience in programming, so almost everything I learned in this course was new to me. The most attractive part for me is "big bang". By programming, I can make pictures move as the way I designed. In addition, I can figure out how a picture is combined by colour dots. Last but not he least, I was introduced the development of computer and the Internet. I briefly heard about computers were much more expensive and slower back in just one decade, but I never thought about if I was born in fifty years ago, how my life would be like without having a computer. In this course, I witnessed the improvement in design and technology for computers from lecture notes, and actually felt the changes. Now I start being interested in computer programming and decide to take CSC108 in next semester.

For this course, I find that quizzes are not hard since they are directly from the video that we are supposed to watch. However, I felt it's challenging when I was doing projects, especially project 2. I knew what should I get, but I failed to write the expression at first. It took me about three hours to finish that project.

To sum up, I really enjoy this course and find programming is interesting.
